I’ve been thinking a lot recently about the ways we mask ourselves. About the messages we absorb about what is good and right and acceptable and expected. I have an intensity in me that often makes people uncomfortable. So I’ve spent much of my life trying to shield them from their discomfort. We are given cultural messages about what a women is supposed to look like, act like. Those of us who don’t quite fit the description, we grow up trying to fit ourselves into someone else’s idea of who we should be. Until one day we get mad and fed up and irate. We step into our own being and say I am me and I am enough!
