Be The Change :::

This image showed up in my facebook memories feed on Valentines Day, nearly lost in a deluge of shock, sadness, outrage, judgement and fear.

All of us are processing our feelings in the wake of violence. This post from Valentines Day 2015 is a reminder for me of why I am here, what I can do, and how to move forward through tragedies and adversity, from the personal, to the national, to the global scale.

Excerpt from 2015/02/14 Blog Post:

 

I want this to be the day you tell the people who have walked with you through “the fear and the mess” that you appreciate them.

I wish for you to receive this in return. For the ones you love to tell you, in an authentic way, how much you are loved, wanted and appreciated. Because really, that’s the crux of the matter.

I’m going to quote Shana Niequist here and tell you this: “What I can do is offer myself, wholehearted and present, to walk with the people I love through the fear and the mess. That’s all any of us can do. That’s what we’re here for.”

I am here. I am here for you. And I love you. Please don’t forget.
