Our friends Brian and Emily got married this weekend. It was a heck of a fun shindig held at the gorgeous Mathews Manor in Springville Alabama. The morning rain was a blessing in disguise, cooling off the blazing Alabama heat and clearing up just in time for the ceremony. They put a lot of thought and work into this event, with tons of personal and DIY details. And the setting couldn’t be more beautiful than under this 100+ yr old oak tree followed by a garden party reception featuring farm fresh food from their favorite local farms including Boutwell Farms and Snow’s Bend Farm.
I used the opportunity to take a few photos. Well, who am I kidding… more than a few photos. Because I was essentially a guest / 2nd shooter, I was able to take a lot of candid photos without the stress of a primary wedding photographer (who has the responsibility and, frankly, the worry of capturing “must have shots” that happen only once).
