This week we met up with some friends for a mid-week mini-celebration. Nate and I were celebrating the arrival of a signed contract for our first wedding of the season and invited our friends out to one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Congratulations Lauren & Jimmy! We will be photographing your wedding in just a few short months and are looking forward to what I know is going to be a fabulous event.
As we were walking up to Anna’s Thai Cafe in downtown Burlington, I spied Tony and Megan through the window. I quickly popped of my lens cap and snagged this image.
Aren’t they cute? They have been working on a big project that just wrapped up today, so they also have reason for a mini-celebration. I was reading a book recently called For Better: The Science of a Good Marriage that looks at the current scientific research on committed relationships and one of the things they found is a beneficial impact when couples regularly recognize and celebrate each others small accomplishments. So, we are all one lovely evening closer to our own happily ever after. If you don’t already, I highly recommend not only celebrating the big milestones in life like your wedding, anniversary, new job, or promotion, but to also take the time to celebrate your everyday accomplishments. According to For Better, you’ll not only have a good time but you will have a stronger marriage in the long run.
On to the gratuitous food photos.

This was Megan’s dish. I’m not exactly sure what she ordered but isn’t it beautiful?:
