The Burlington Royals are out hometown minor league baseball team. Their home field is nearby Burlington Athletic Stadium, tucked behind Fairchild Park.
We love it because the seats are cheap and you are close in on the action. Thanks to a Groupon deal a few weeks ago, we got 2 tickets for the price on one. Nate is a frequenter at the ballfield, joining a group of friends who enjoy the camaraderie of sitting on the bleachers, snacking on peanuts and beer, and good naturedly heckling the visiting team.
Wednesday nights are “Wacky Wednesday Mug Night” with discount on drink refills when you bring your ‘Commemorative Mug’.
You may recognize these guys. We photographed their beautiful fun farm wedding last year.
We had a beautiful (if a bit warm) evening. I just love the way the sun lights up the stadium at sunset, making everything sparkle and glow.
These types of “Lifestyle Photography” images are some of my favorite kind to capture. I love taking authentic images of your life. In places that you love and frequent. While I love a gorgeous photo in a beautiful perfect location as much as the next person, I have been excited to see a trend toward portrait photographers (and wedding photographers ) taking ‘real photos’ of people in their homes, at their favorite park or neighborhood pub. When I look at photos like these I think “Wow, this is MY life and its beautiful.”
If you want a beautiful record of your life, whether it’s documenting an outing with friends, a day in the life of your family at home or a date night at your favorite local places, we would love to capture those sparkling moments and show you what a blessed life you have. As dusk rolled in, the “Rowdies” decided to take it to the fence. I recently learned that our little group of B-Town Royals fans have earned the nickname of “The First Base Rowdies”. I guess their tendency to heckle the players with imaginative insults has been noticed.
