I was recently in Saxapahaw NC for a photoshoot. Afterwards, I headed into the woods for a hike around the nearby trails. Running along the banks of the Haw River, they are a quiet escape just second away from Saxapahaw’s small town bustle. If you are in the area for Sunday brunch at the Saxapahaw General Store, dinner at The Eddy Pub or to catch show at the Haw River Ballroom, you should definitely take a few minutes to roam along the river.
While the bright reds, oranges and yellows of the trees steal the limelight this time of year, there is a wealth of less flamboyant beauty to be found. I really love the subtle textures, colors and patterns that can be found everywhere… if you take the time to look and appreciate their gentle beauty.
However I must admit, all these golden yellow leaves make my heart happy.
