This is my little sister. It’s her birthday today so it seems like the right time to share some family love and some ‘ridiculously pretty’ and ‘pretty delicious’ food. She’s not going to like any of her photos, but I’m taking family privilege and sharing them anyway. This photo makes me so happy. It’s indicative to me of where she is at today and what she has accomplished. #BossBabe
I think she thought I was poking fun at her when I told her I love that she’s the one who ordered for the table. But it’s true. She knows what everyone likes, she makes suggestions, she organizes and keeps track of everything and everybody. That’s what makes her a great manager. Did I mention she’s the manager of two restaurants, including The Mercury? She’s working this night, but has the chance to stop and sit with us for a bit.
“I’ve already ordered them,” she says with an offhanded wave when we start to consider if we should get an appetizer. It began with Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Herbsaint Ranch Dressing.
Followed by the Crudo Of The Day. I’ve forgotten what it was exactly other than seafood delicious.
If you love pretty food, the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with Grilled Romaine, Crispy Avocado, LemonAioli, and Gremolata makes you almost sad to eat it.
Not really. Yum!
So Birthday Girl, I wanted to let you know…. I see how hard you work. How much you care. About the restaurant. About the staff. About the patrons. About your friends. About your family. You’re smart and strong and capable. #GirlBoss I’m super proud of you. xo
Libations Menu ;) It all looks good….
I ended up with a Whisky Sour this time.
Nate had the Tomahawk Pork Chop with Rosemary Brandied Apples
One more, because…. Pretty.
I tried the new Gulf Shrimp Carbonara with Spaghetti, Egg Yolk, Parmesan, Black Pepper, and Guanciale.
We got an order of Burrata Ravioli for the table to share. My personal favorite. Wild Mushrooms, Cherry Tomato, Asparagus, Burre Blanc. Yum.
Also a side of button mushrooms.
Since her birthday was imminent and we were all gathered together, mom baked a Heath Bar cake to celebrate. We snuck it in and convinced the staff bring it out as a surprise. If you know my sister, you know she has a sweet tooth beyond most….
Family. Food. Dessert. Smiles. Laughter. Together….. What more could you ask for? Luck-y Life
p.s. The Mercury is located in Ponce City Market in Atlanta, GA. Food lovers, you should definitely check it out.
