Company Shops Market threw a potluck picnic at their building this evening. It was a pre-cursor to the free Fridays On Front concert being held down the street later in the evening. Company Shops is a co-op grocery store located in downtown Burlington that will be opening this winter (January-ish). A group of 30 or so Company Shops supporters enjoyed a communal meal that included local burgers and sausages from Cane Creek Farm in Snow Camp, NC (thanks Charlie) and ice cream from Smitty’s made right here in Burlington (a genius addition on this hot evening, brought by Anne Morris of the Burlington Downtown Corp.) and a number of a number of homemade dishes.
