Wheee! We are recently back from our first beach trip of the season. Oh how I love the beach. And this beach in particular. Who would have guessed that one of my favorite beaches (beautiful, uncrowded and undeveloped) is located just minutes away from the craziness that is the heart of Myrtle Beach. I am exceptionally lucky to have grandparents who own a lovely little condo at Lands End. The balcony on their unit overlooks the 1.5 mile long stretch of undeveloped beachfront. The summers are a bit to hot for them so they usually head back to the cooler climate of their home in the suburbs of Chicago. They have been kind enough to let us and the rest of the family to have access to their place during the summer.
This evening, we decided to take a walk on the beach, snap some photos for our photo album, and enjoy the sunset over the dunes. Having spent several summers out here before, we’ve already taken quite a few photos out on the beach. This time, we played around a bit trying different angles, expressions and taking more unusual photos. Life is more than just smiles. I like to also catch the fleeting moments in between and even the more somber ones.
We are planning several more trips to the Myrtle Beach area over the summer. If you are planning a vacation in Myrtle Beach and are interested in having Luck Photography photograph your loved ones in a beach session like this, email: info at Luckphotography .com
This photo makes me laugh. I was not in a laughing mood at the time, but Nate was doing his best to make me giggle while I unsuccessfully resisted:
I love this path from the beach to the Lands End condo. There is a set of wooden stairs that bridge the dunes a few yards further down the beach, but I always choose the path. I love the way it is slightly wild with sea grass and how the path winds around the corner and then frames the ocean. Somehow it reminds me of childhood beach trips in a way the more utilitarian stairs do not.
