Wow, what a great evening! Our friends out at Cane Creek Farm roped Nate into helping with their Huck Finn skit. He was one of the con men that Huck and Jim meet on the river, but primarily he provided the extra muscle to pull the raft across the “river” in the scene where young Huck escapes his drunken father. I happily stayed on the sidelines snapping away lovely photos and enjoying the entertainment. Meanwhile, up at the hay barn, the guys from BoxCarr Farms were busy preparing a feast of locally grown goodness. Guests enjoyed Fullsteam Brewery (Durham, NC) beer on draft or Iron Gate Vineyards (Mebane, NC) wine and snacked on crab baguette appetizers made by farm employee Graham Brough. The event benefited the Helen Valentine Waite Scholarship Fund helping deserving young people attend Eagle’s Nest Camp.
