This group of people have put heart and soul (plus a whole lot of time, effort and personal finances) into bringing a co-op grocery store to Burlington, NC. The founding board members of Company Shops Market are an example of how people can put aside their perceived differences and join together for the common good. Despite a wide range of political ideology, religious views and philosophical outlook, the Board brought their collective strengths to the table in collaboration. In a seminar today, the speaker spoke about his definition of teamwork. T.E.A.M. Together Everyone Achieves More. I think that is a very appropriate description of a co-op business. Nate and I are so proud of you all and are so glad that we have had the opportunity to be involved with this effort of many. ~ Sarah

I recently visited a coop in Burlington–it was a pleasure to see the different products on the shelves.
The atmosphere and the products provided made me wish that there were a store, such as yours, in Mebane.
We used to have a small shoppe (lunch, wines, and specialties) on Clay Street that was sold to a pharmacy. That pharmacy is no longer there–it seems that this vacant building could provide an ideal coop for Mebane. Coffee, lunch, and special products would be a “hit” on Clay Street. There are other shoppes that out-of-the area and local folks visit–your unique coop would be a great addition!!!!!
