This one’s a hard one, so I’ll keep it short for now. We had to let our luck-y dog go yesterday. Knowing that he was rapidly loosing the ability to breath, we spent his last day snuggling together as a pack. We pulled a chair under a shady tree, set up a tripod and an intervalometer* and took our last family portraits together as a pack of 3. It’s certainly not my most beautiful images. Or most technically perfect. Or even the most flattering images of any of us. But they are a priceless reminder of an amazing, gentle soul who allowed us to help heal his emotional scars and who gave us back so much love in return.
*fancy word for an automated shutter release at timed intervals.
