Checking the weather the night before, I almost reconsidered. Cloudy and rainy it said. Nate piped up to gently remind me that what we were seeking was a respite from our everyday. Freedom from our todo list and permission to do nothing or anything.
While not the sunny weekend I had hoped for, it was unseasonably mild temperatures and the rain was more like a hanging mist. I discovered I rather liked it. The beach took on a surreal calm feeling that seemed to wrap around you, comforting and calming. The colors were muted and beautiful and different. Like someone desaturated the world with photoshop.
And then the most amazing little things happened. Hundreds of birds start swirling around our heads. A tiny spot in the clouds opens up, with rays of sunset light shooting down. And then it would be gone.
p.s. We are wedding and portrait photographers based in the piedmont area of North Carolina. However, I pack my flipflops and head to the beach as often as I can. We are happy to compare schedules, plan around one of our trips to the beach and capture you and your loved ones in the Myrtle Beach, Wilmington and surrounding areas.
