“Would you like me to take a photo of the two of you?” Nate taps my shoulder and points to the guy standing under the Surf City Pier. He is smiling at us, with two cameras hanging from his shoulders. “YES PLEASE!!!!!!” I say with a huge smile.
I have my camera in hand. Nate has been (semi) patiently allowing me to ohh and ahh over the multiple shades of turquoise blue water while I insist on taking individual photos of each of us. Its our last day of a weekend getaway in Surf City, NC. Nate…he just wants to go walk out on the pier to see the view and look at jelly fish. I want a few great photos to go along with that memory. And I want to dip my toes in the water, again.
We introduce ourselves and I hand over my camera to Chris. From start to finish, I think it took about 2 minutes. Two minutes to make my day. To make a perfect day even more perfect. THANK YOU CHRIS for offering us those two minutes of your time, while you waited on the arrival of your actual clients. I like to think of it as goodness coming back to me. A ‘pay it forward’ moment, for all the times I have done the same for friends and for strangers.
