We’re Privileged to be North Carolina Photographers, at least for another 12 months. Did you know that the state of North Carolina requires all photographers to obtain a “Privilege License” from the state? We are in the small but illustrious company of a few other professions such as: attorney‑at‑law, physician, veterinarian, engineer, land surveyor, architect, real estate broker, real estate appraiser, loan officer, mortician and landscape architect.  Is it just me or do photographers seem like a random addition to this list? Most of these other professions have very real power over the health, wealth and legal status of others and I’m going to make wild guess that is why they have a privilege license. How did photographers find themselves on this list? If you have an answer, I’d love to hear it. Regardless, we are thrilled to have the privilege of photographing you all for another year and I hope the state is making good use of that license fee to make our state a better place to live.
